Suan Dusit University’s Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology Participates in the Seminar “Navigating Opportunities and Risks:Sharing Experience on University Digital Transformation in the AI Era”

Assistant Professor Tipsuda Kidlerd, Director of the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ueararee Chantra, Deputy Director, represented Suan Dusit University at the seminar titled “Navigating Opportunities and Risks: Sharing Experience on University Digital Transformation in the AI Era.”

The event was organized by:

  • The Knowledge Network Institute of Thailand,
  • The Risk Management Center of Chulalongkorn University,
  • NRCT (National Research Council of Thailand),
  • In collaboration with partner universities under the Digital University network.

The seminar was officially opened by Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). It featured a keynote address by Professor Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, who shared a vision for transforming Thai higher education through AI, focusing on three development dimensions:

  • AI for Education,
  • AI Workforce Development, and
  • AI Innovation.

The seminar included experience-sharing sessions led by university executives under the 5E Framework:

  • Education: Professor Dr. Vilit Purivatchaya, President of Chulalongkorn University.
  • Environment: Associate Professor Dr. Somyot Kiatwanichwilai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
  • Engagement: Assistant Professor Dr. Peerawat Wattanapong, Assistant to the President, Kasetsart University.
  • Equity: Associate Professor Dr. Rattisith Sukkahut, Vice President, Chiang Mai University.
  • Ethics: Associate Professor Dr. Cherdchai Nopmaneejumruslers, Vice President, Mahidol University.

The seminar fostered collaboration and aimed to elevate Thai education standards to a global level, preparing Thai faculty and students for an era where AI transforms every aspect of learning.

Key objectives included exchanging best practices, fostering understanding of technology adoption, building cooperative networks, and promoting a culture of risk management within universities. These efforts aim to position Thai universities as regional leaders in AI.

The seminar took place on December 20, 2024, at the Professor Prasert Na Nakhon Conference Room, Higher Education Building 1, Bangkok.
