CISDUS Holds Online Evaluation for the Chinese-Thai Styled Fashion Designing Contest

On the afternoon of 20 August, Confucius Institute of Suan Dusit University at Suphanburi (CISDUS), jointly with the China-ASEAN Business Program of Suan Dusit University, held an online evaluation for the Chinese-Thai styled fashion designing contest. Vice Presidents of Suan Dusit University, Assoc. Prof. Pacharee Suankaew, Dr. Waranee Vessoontorntep and Dr. Pornchanit Kaew-nate, having accepted the invitation, presented themselves in the event and acted as the judges. About 30 ZOOM users, including judges and contestants, logged in to attend the event, and more than 1,000 Facebook users watched it live and voted for their favorites.

The evaluation was set to examine the performance of all the 15 final contestants, scoring their self-presentation, costume presentation, question answering, personality and performance, and time management respectively. Finally, the marks would tell the winners on each level. In addition, two extra prizes, “Best Presentation” and “Highest Voting”, would go to the ones getting the most votes online. During the evaluation, all the judges and online viewers were greatly impressed by the contestants’ designing ideas that were integrated with Chinese history and culture, their creative and diverse presentations and their standard and fluent Chinese speaking. A fruitful garden of Chinese-Thai cultures exchange was imaginatively visible on the screen.

When the contest ended, all the three Vice Presidents told their inspirations, paying tribute to the CISDUS for its good jobs on promoting the cultural development between China and Thailand, and they sincerely hoped that similar events should be further conducted so as to set up a good example for the China-Thailand cultural exchange in the post-pandemic era.
